Medical Secretary/Administrator

Haddenham Medical Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced part time medical secretary. Excellent IT skills and the good knowledge of medical terminology required. The successful candidate will have ideally have experience in general practice, previous use of EMIS web, choose and book referrals, audio typing, scanning although this is not essential. The post holder will manage medical reports and communicate with hospitals including the NHS and private organisations in order to arrange patient's appointments and care. Excellent communication skills are essential.

We are a modern busy rural NHS GP surgery based at Haddenham Bucks. This is an exciting, busy and varied role supporting our clinical team in the provision of excellent patient care.

The successful candidate will also work with the reception team to include duties such as telephone call handling, issuing repeat prescriptions and other general administrative duties.

CNC Programmer / Machinist

Responsible to: Technical Manager
Role: Permanent (subject to 6 month probation period)
Location: Haddenham
Salary: Dependant on experience

Haddenham based engineering company, TTL, have a new vacancy for a skilled and enthusiastic person to work within our technical department to programme and operate our range of 3 and 5-axis CNC machining centres. The successful applicant will be an experienced CNC machinist with a sound knowledge of Heidenhain and/or Siemens CNC controls and a track record in setting-up, programming and managing a range of precision milling operations.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to demonstrate a good standard of off-line programming skill, ideally in Siemens NX (formerly Unigraphics), although relevant experience on other systems will be considered.

Primary Duties:

  • Programming, set-up and operation (using both off-line and MDI programming methods) of 3 and 5-axis CNC milling machines (Bridgeport, DMG, Hermle, etc.) for prototyping, test machining and small batch machining activities
  • Development (in liaison with colleagues) of best machining strategies and fixturing methods to ensure production efficiency is maximised
  • Liaise with colleagues from other departments (e.g. design) to agree technical requirements, priorities, timescales, etc.

Workshop Cleaner
Part-time

Haddenham based engineering company, TTL, requires a part time cleaner to tidy and clean the workshop.

The Advice Services Alliance is a very slim charity with a big ambition; we represent all the free and independent advice networks. Citizen Advice, AdviceUk, the Law Centres Network, AgeUK, Youth Access, Shelter and Scope are all members of the ASA. The world of advice is undergoing a considerable change driven by a sharp reduction in funding streams for advice centres and an increased demand from people with social welfare problems. The Advice Services Alliance provides the forum to discuss these changes and to influence key stakeholders; government and funders as well as the public.

The ASA is looking to increase its on line presence as it owns three websites and has a twitter account. However, maintaining these websites is a challenge and we are looking for a volunteer to help improve and maintain our social media communications. You can see our main website here

The role can be home based and the volunteer will to liaise closely with the Director of the charity regarding content and structure. The role will upload material to the website and generally ensure that the websites are accurate, relevant and interesting. It will require a person who has an active interest in social justice and in advice giving or the law. It is anticipated that the role is very flexible but will take no more than a few hours per week.

PCMS Design is a project management and architectural design firm working on a varied mix of public sector and residential projects. A new vacancy has arisen within our team for an Architect, Building Surveyor or Architectural Technician.

The role of Architect, Building Surveyor or Architectural Technician is to support projects by developing designs and specifications according to strict deadlines and to meet a budget. The role includes liaising with other team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to co-ordinate design details and resolve technical issues.

The successful candidate will have a university degree or equivalent qualification in the field of architecture, engineering or building surveying, and a minimum of 3 years direct work experience in a building design capacity, including aspects of planning and specification. A good working knowledge of current construction techniques, statutory requirements (Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, CDM Regulations, etc) and non-statutory design guidance is essential, in addition to demonstrated experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD).

The experience of working both independently and in a team is important. The ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a time-constrained environment is crucial, as are strong interpersonal skills.

Some local / regional travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients or contractors, and candidates will need to have a full driving licence. Depending upon the nature of the projects, there may be a requirement for a CRB check to be carried out.

This is a full-time role but a working pattern over 4 days per week would be considered.
