We are delighted to remind you that the annual village fete takes place next Saturday 11th June, in its now traditional setting on Church End Green and down Flint Street.

This wonderful slice of village life draws together lots of local organisations to offer stalls and fund-raising attractions, as well as information about the various voluntary groups that help to make Haddenham the friendly and supportive place we know and love.

There's also a group of Open Gardens to enjoy, as well as tempting cakes and refreshments in St Mary's Centre.

And don't forget the display of vintage and classic cars to reminisce over, outside the Tythe Barn at Manor Farm – for more details on this, see here.

The timetable for the fete looks like this:

1.00pm Gates Open
Music by The Ian English Trio

1.30pm Official Opening by BBC Weatherman, Matt Taylor

2.30pm Buckingham School of Disco Dancing

2.45pm Haddenham Shamrocks

3.15pm The Ian English Trio

4.00pm Prize Giving

4.15pm Lucky Programme Grand Draw

4.30pm The party concludes!

Two Additional Reminders:

Wheelbarrow Race
Although not part of the village fete as such, watch out for the Annual Wheelbarrow Race, which will be getting underway from the Sports & Social Club pavilion at 4.00pm on the same afternoon and will see hard-working fancy-dressed barrow-pushers panting their way from pub to pub through the village, with a human passenger seated in their luxury vehicle of choice! Fete goers will most likely encounter these brave(?) souls as they emerge from Skittles Green and travel down past the Egg House Butchers Shop, towards the Rose and Thistle, then on to the Green Dragon and up Churchway and Willis Road towards the finish line back at the Recreation Ground. More details here.

Village Picnic
On the Sunday immediately following the fete (12th June) there will be a village picnic on Church End Green, with a BBQ will be provided by Ricky Jeffrey (from Egg House butchers) on a first come first served basis from 12.30pm, paid for from some of the proceeds from the village fete. All welcome – bring a blanket, your family and friends and enjoy the al fresco delights of a community picnic. More details here.
