Aged 50 years or above? Not yet had a flu jab? Your country, your local community and your NHS needs you!

Having flu and COVID together could be very serious. Some of the symptoms of flu and COVID are similar, which might mean that people who caught flu need to self-isolate and be tested unnecessarily. This year, therefore, the Government has extended the availability of free NHS flu vaccines to all patients aged 50 to 64 years regardless of whether they have health problems that put them at higher risk.

We will be receiving a final large supply of flu vaccines next week. From the 1st December, we can provide free NHS flu jabs to any of our patients who are aged 50 years or above. We want to finish providing flu jabs as soon as possible so that we can put our efforts into helping with the COVID vaccines. We will be running clinics in the mornings and in the afternoons from the 1st December with a final big clinic on Saturday 12th December.

As we continue to be very busy on the phone lines every day dealing with sick patients, please book online if possible using Patient Access or the NHS App (which can be set up at home without coming into the surgery). This would be really helpful to us and ensure that patients who are ill and need us can continue to contact us by phone quickly and easily. All of our flu jab appointments will be available to book on-line.

If you have not had a flu jab and are 50 or over, please book yours now. Please also let as many people know as possible, especially friends or neighbours who might not have access to Facebook or our website.
