When this all kicked off in mid-April we all thought the Haddenham Scrub Hub would be a short lived thing, making a few scrubs and the odd face covering. We're now coming to the end of June and our stitchers are still turning out 50 – 60 items a week!

We must express our great thanks to Ercol in Princes Risborough who have been cutting out and overlocking Scrub Sets made from the hundreds of metres of fabric donated to the Bucks, Beds and Milton Keynes sewing group from Chris Evans, (Virgin Radio) and John Lewis PLC.

The Haddenham Scrub Hub as part of this group have been able sew together these Scrub Sets and have so far completed over 100 Scrubs for our front line workers.

The Haddenham Stitchers have also made face coverings for the Fish Scheme and have made their first delivery of Scrubs, Face Coverings, Wash bags, Ear savers and Headbands to Haddenham Medical Centre, (photo attached), with a second order in make as we write.

As the furlough process is coming to an end and the demand from the NHS locally has reduced, so some of our sewers are putting their machines away. The effort, dedication and camaraderie of the group over the last two months has been outstanding. Not once have any of the Sewers complained about the never ending and changing demands for items, the very hot days spent sewing or the nagging e mails.

An absolutely brilliant effort.

Well done to everyone involved in the Haddenham Scrub Hub!
