It's Mothering Sunday tomorrow, 22nd March

With social isolation in progress, many families will be unable to visit and share time to embrace and thank their mums and other carers for all they do.

Sadly there will be no church services either, but if you'd like to engage with Mothering Sunday from a Christian perspective, the Wychert Vale Benefice (of which Haddenham and close villages are a part) has provided resources for you to have a small service in your own home – and perhaps involving your children too.

Here's the link with a video presented by Revd Canon Dr Phil Groves.

The support material mentioned in the video is attached on this webpage – please see the PDFs.

Additional video material to support your Christian walk is also available on the Wychert Vale website.

Light a Candle

Light a candle – Sunday 22nd March – 7pm

Throughout the country, in response to a call from church leaders, Sunday will be a day of prayer and action, praying especially for those who are sick or anxious, and for all involved in the Health Service.

One action we are all invited to take is to light a candle on Sunday evening as an act of solidarity and hope in the light of Christ that can never be extinguished.

Churches Together In Haddenham invite you to join us in this simple act of hope and solidarity by placing a nightlight in a jam jar, and putting it in your window at 7pm on Sunday.

With thanks to Jacquelin Lynch, jam jars and tea lights are available for free at the church lich gate. The jam jars have been washed in antibacterial wash and the basket has been sprayed with dettol spray.
