We thought you might like to know that the 'Haddenham Scrub Hub' was formed five weeks ago, on the 15th April, when the call went out for local sewers to join together to make items for the NHS. On the 17th April we received our first request from 'Sewing for the NHS Beds Bucks & Milton Keynes' to make wash bags for scrubs.

On the 23rd April 152 wash bags were delivered.

Next came requests for Scrubs, Scrub Hats, Ear Savers and Head Bands which we set about making. Within a week we had 72 scrub hats, multiple ear savers and by the 7th May 47 sets of scrubs and 92 Headbands.

Our local coordinator for 'Sewing for the NHS Beds Bucks and Milton Keynes' then requested a further 150 wash bags, 20 Headbands and 50 Scrub Hats. These were delivered this week and ended up being 200 wash bags, 20 headbands and 70 scrub caps!

The list of front line workers who have benefited from all the hard work of our wonderful local volunteers seems to grow by the day. initially it was Hospitals and Care Homes but lately we have been helping our local GPs, Police and Prison Officers.

While the requests for items has slowed it has given us time to reflect on what has been achieved. Haddenham sewers have adapted to new patterns, made new garments and met challenging demands while maintaining a high quality finish.

Overall the 30 members of the 'Haddenham Scrub Hub' have made over 700 items in support of the NHS and other front line workers.

Our warmest congratulations to all of them!
