Here are the latest statements from the village churches in Haddenham

St Mary's Parish Church

The Government is now allowing places of worship to reopen for private prayer. Diocesan guidance issued in preparation for when this step would be announced, has directed us to a number of safety concerns which individual churches need to take into account before this can be considered.

The safety of any visitors is our top priority. We will closely monitor any further guidance as we consider the way ahead for St. Mary's and will be exploring the possibility of opening the building for short periods of time and what that would entail.

We very much regret that for the moment, however, St Mary's must remain closed.

Please visit our website haddenhamstmarys.org for details of online/remote worship opportunities

UPDATE:
From Wednesday 8th July, St Mary's church will be open on Wednesdays between 10am & 2pm for private prayer. Please respect the social distancing guidance to ensure the safety of all visitors.

Haddenham Baptist Church

At present we have no plans to open the Baptist Church. We are following the government guidelines, and are not planning on any worship services at the moment.

If the government suggest we can open for prayer meeting or small group activities we will consider that but the safety of people is paramount, and the age of our congregation, the cleaning required, and the social distancing rules will all need careful consideration, and people power to ensure they are all in place.

If this changes we will provide updated information.

Methodist Church

We are hopeful of being able to open for individual private prayer and reflection in July, subject to observance of social distancing and necessary sanitisation requirements.

A member of the Methodist Church would need to be present to ensure compliance. A member of the Methodist church would need to be present to ensure compliance.

We are hopeful that the chapel will be able to open for collective public worship, subject to similar constraints.

In both instances a risk assessment form would need to be completed by the Church and made available to the Vale of Aylesbury Methodist Circuit and the Northampton District of the Methodist Church.

Catholic Church

The Church of the Good Shepherd in Haddenham will not be opening to the public at this time. The situation will be reviewed weekly. The Catholic Churches in Thame and Princes Risborough will be opening for private prayer, please check their websites.

Here, in Haddenham, we will continue with the live streaming of the Sunday Mass at 9.30. If anyone would like to go to the church for a specific need, they are welcome to contact Fr Leszek and he will try to accommodate them as best he can at this time.
