Prize Presentation to the three most popular Festive Trail displays

The 2022 Haddenham Festive Trail included 53 official displays and many more local households and businesses beautifully lit up throughout December. Villagers had the opportunity to vote for their favourites. The creators of the three most popular displays were each presented with £20 vouchers, generously donated by Haddenham Garden Centre.

There were 3 equally popular displays:

Handley Drive-in home 4 Christmas by the Residents of No 2 and No 3 Handley Drive. Andy Shah said "We were so pleased to see the community effort last year that we decided we wanted to be a part of this great event. We also wanted to be instrumental in bringing the whole community together, bridging the gap between the village and the new developments. Most of all Christmas is about families and children. Our greatest reward was seeing families and their children gather at the end of our driveway and enjoying our display. That was the best reward for our efforts".

Winter Woodland Wonderland at Stokes End by the Clifford family.
Sarah explained "We started our display around 9 years ago with just one large reindeer and then added to it over the years.  We've 'switched on' with friends and neighbours over the years, which has also included reindeer shaped gingerbread and mulled wine!  We really enjoy lighting up the neighbourhood and hope the display brings a smile.  We have been kindly gifted a lovely set of hedgehogs who will join next Christmas!".

Snow is Falling in the window of Harpers Estate Agents, in collaboration with "More than Brushes" Art group. Penny from Harpers said: "From all of us at Harpers Estate Agents, thank you for the opportunity. We have loved the community spirit and being involved. We hoped it brought a little Christmas cheer to all. Thank you also to More than Brushes Art group for all their help and work on our wonderful  display.

Although the main purpose of the Festive Trail is to bring joy and light to the community, it also raises money for different local good causes. This year's event raised £540 including Gift Aid for the Haddenham Baptist Church 'Hat and Boots' Restoration Appeal.

We are really grateful to all everyone who took part, to Haddenham Garden Centre for awarding prizes and to all those who made donations in support of this year's beneficiary. We hope even more Haddenham residents, local businesses and village groups will get involved next Christmas!
