We are saddened to report the passing of Gill Dudley.

Gill passed away peacefully on Wednesday 20th March, exactly a year since the devasting diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Phil, his daughter Carla and son Alastair. Not forgetting her two grandchildren William and Thomas.

Gill was an active member of the Haddenham community since moving to the village in 1970.

She began her working life at Airtech and then later at the local Rose and Thistle and Crown pubs. She excelled at running the village playgroup and then later as the Parish Clerk, where her dedication earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and the local community.

Being part of the community was always foremost in her mind (alongside family) which was shown by her volunteer roles in the Darby and Joan 60+ club and being part of the inaugural Haddenham beer festival – catering division.

Her passions and hobbies included anything craft based, knitting, stitching, quilting and she was a keen member of the Haddenham stitchers. Gill's passion for knitting and stitching was more than just a hobby; it was a reflection of her meticulous attention to detail and her boundless creativity. Each stitch, each pattern, told a story of love and dedication. From quilts to many bags, Gill poured her heart and soul into every piece she created. Her hands were truly gifted, and her creations will forever be treasured by those lucky enough to receive them.

The funeral service will be held at The Aylesbury Crematorium (Watermead), at 12.30pm on Friday 5th April. All are welcome to attend and the wake afterwards at Kings Head at 1.30pm.
