Beavers are the youngest element of Scouting. They run fun meetings and do exciting things every week, for 6 – 8 year old boys.
Over the last year, the Haddenham Beaver Colony has completed lots of different activities including: apple picking in Snakemoor, nature walks, church parades, building models, simple experiments and welly wanging to name a few.
We have a small colony but have a long waiting list of boys waiting to join – but we are struggling for uniformed leaders. Even with parent helpers, the colony is in danger of closing if we do not have enough leaders.
To be a leader requires only a few training courses, and an hour each week to run the meetings; there will also need to be a Disclosure and Barring check (previously known as a CRB check) for obvious reasons. The colony currently meets once a week on Tuesday 5-6pm.
