On Friday 29th April, Haddenham St Mary and Haddenham Community Infant Schools celebrated International Dance Day and had an old friend, Kalpesh from KZ Dance UK, back to visit.

Kalpesh led his Holi dance workshop in both schools to all year groups.

Holi is a popular ancient and auspicious Hindu festival after Diwali and signifies the triumph of good over evil. Holi celebrates the arrival of spring, the blossoming of love and, for many, it is a festival day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships.

It was a wonderful day of learning bollywood dance moves!

There was a grand finale performance in both schools that involved throwing colours at one another. This was in the form of dried powder paints.

The power of colour is never more prominent than at Holi festival (also know as the festival of colours) and it certainly was!

The children and staff loved wearing old clothes and sunglasses to fully embrace the colour festival. Parents also joined in the fun at both schools and enjoyed watching the grand finale
