"Carrie", the Haddenham Community Vehicle, provides free local transport for those with mobility issues who would have difficulty using public transport or conventional private cars. Trained drivers offer a bookable door-to-door service for residents of Haddenham and all surrounding villages. Within a range of 20 miles, typical journeys include to shops, hairdressers, medical and dental appointments or simply for social visits to friends and relatives. The specially adapted vehicle offers easy assisted access for passengers in wheelchairs and others. Since 2015 our friendly transport service has been helping to relieve social isolation within the community by making local travel more accessible for all. To discuss and book a trip – or even to offer to join our driver team – please call our coordinator on 07495 366779. HCV is a charity supported by local voluntary groups and donations from clients.
The Fish Scheme is a charity whose main aim is to provide transport for Haddenham residents in need. Where people have no family or friends who can help them, the Fish Scheme's team of volunteers will take people on trips to, for example, Medical Centre, hospital and dentist appointments, the hairdressers, local shopping etc. Additional volunteers are always needed to drive or help manage the bookings.
