Following last year's successful charity event, Haddenham Players presented three hilarious performances of 'It'll be Alright on Panto Night 2' at the Village Hall last weekend.
The show was a comedy about a production of 'Sleeping Beauty' performed as if in the final stages of rehearsals, complete with deliberate mispronunciations, amusing prompts and script reading errors.
A strong cast of 12 local adults, young people and children ably presented a highly entertaining show, written and directed by John Yates and produced by Gordon Lawson. Classic panto style acting was greeted with responses of boos, hisses and "he's behind you" from the modest but enthusiastic audiences!
Solo, duet and company performances of many well-known singalong songs were confidently delivered to a very high standard. Creative makeup, fabulous costumes provided by Gillian Liddell and a competent team of sound, lighting and front of house volunteers all contributed to the overall entertainment. Congratulations to everyone involved!
Net proceeds from the weekend's performances will be donated to the Red Cross Appeal and local charities.
Haddenham Players was formed in 1954 and has presented numerous comedies, dramas and pantomimes in venues throughout the village. They are always keen to find new members or people interested in supporting them in any way.
