Children at Bright Horizons nursery in Haddenham are learning about local wildlife thanks to a bug hotel donation from Cala Homes.
The nursery, which is situated close to Cala's Red Clover Gardens Development at Aspen Park, Haddenham provides a unique learning experience for its toddlers and encourages outdoor play. Working with the property developer, children at Bright Horizons can now also learn about the local habitat in Haddenham first-hand.
The bug hotel is designed to provide a safe hideaway for wildlife and can shelter anything from ladybirds and bumblebees to spiders that live in the area. The children are now learning what is on offer in the local village.
Jo Titcombe, Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons, said: "Our children have seen all sorts of bugs entering our Bug Hotel. We want to instil a passion for learning in our little ones and opportunities such as this are invaluable in a child's development."
Stala Thomson, Sales and Marketing Director at Cala (Chiltern), said: "Our top priority when building a new development is to play our part in the community – initiatives such as this, which help support the bio-diversity that Haddenham has to offer as well as supporting a nursery close to home, are extremely important to us.
"We look forward to hearing more about the creatures that the little ones find and hope this brings countless years of entertainment and learning."
