I thought this petition may be worth sharing here, in case others feel the same and would like to sign it.
It is asking Buckinghamshire Council to make public comments on planning applications visible again. These comments have been hidden since March 2025, with the Council referring to GDPR as the reason. However, many other councils still make planning comments publicly visible on their planning websites, so it does not appear to be an unavoidable requirement.
At the moment, the lack of visibility makes it much harder for local residents to understand what concerns or support have already been raised on applications affecting the village.
It also makes the process harder for applicants, agents and developers, as they cannot easily see and respond to any issues raised unless they submit a Freedom of Information request. This seems to waste time for everyone involved and must also create extra work and cost for the council.
Having the comments visible again would make the planning process more transparent, fairer and easier for everyone to follow – whether you are a neighbour, local resident, applicant or planning professional.
