Blooming Fruity Official Opening

On Monday morning 2nd October a short ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted to mark officially the transfer of Blooming Fruity into community ownership.

Greg Smith, chairman of the new community benefit society, wielded the scissors, alongside the shop team of Rebecca, Sandra, Cherry and Debbie, as well as former owner Sally, who is staying on temporarily to help with the transition.

New lettering has gone up on the window to highlight the shop's status as "a community-owned greengrocer", and with the change of seasons, the new window display features some of the delicious autumn produce available in the shop.

The same theme carried through onto the chalkboard decorated by budding local artist Flo Leale, aged 13.

The team are also delighted to have received a 5-star food and hygiene rating following an inspection today, but won't be resting on their laurels, as they're already hard at work preparing for Christmas!

We hope you will continue to come in and say hello, and look out for a few new lines appearing on the shelves in the near future.
