You may well be preparing for the big Jubilee celebrations in June, however there is another celebration coming up very soon in our own village of Haddenham.
Long-time Haddenham residents Christina and Peter Jeffery will be celebrating their Golden (50th) wedding anniversary this Friday, 15th April.
They were married at Wallington Congregational Church in 1972 and soon afterwards moved to Haddenham, initially moving into a property in Churchway. They have been in the village ever since.
Over the years both have enjoyed taking part in many different aspects of village life including u3a, Haddenham Village Society and Horticultural Society and parish council meetings.
You may know of Christina as she wrote the Haddenham village column in the Bucks Herald newspaper from September 1995 to November 2021 before taking a well-earned retirement.
Christina still contributes to the Haddenham Chronicles and in the research into Haddenham street names.
Meanwhile, Peter contributes in the background to this community website, highlighting to the editor any typographical or factual errors — he has a very keen eye!
Christina and Peter will be marking the occasion at a homemade afternoon tea with their three daughters and other family members.
We are sure you will join with us in congratulating Christina and Peter on reaching this significant milestone in their married life and in wishing them many more happy years together.
