An EV Hire Club for Haddenham and Thame?

Zero Carbon Haddenham is delighted to announce that a local EV Hire Club will be launching at the Thame Drive Electric event on Saturday 11th September 2021.

The event, organised by Thame Green Living with the help of Zero Carbon Haddenham, will be held from 10am — 3pm, in the Upper High Street car park, opposite Rumsey's.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, the club will allow you to hire an electric car at attractive rates, making it a genuine alternative to car ownership for those who don't rely on their car for work. You can hire a vehicle for as little as an hour to run a quick errand, or take advantage of cheaper 24-hour rates for longer trips.

You don't need to worry about servicing, MOT, repairs, breakdown cover, insurance, finance payments, depreciation or cleaning, and will only need to recharge on longer trips. So joining the EV hire club could save you a lot of hassle, but also a significant amount of money (up to £3,500 a year, according to the shared transport charity COMO).

The best way to find out more is to come down to the event, where you'll find people on the stall to answer all your questions. But if you can't make it on the day, you can still contact 3B Hire, who will be running the club, and they'll be happy to provide more information.

As well as the launch of the Hire Club, Thame Drive Electric will provide a wealth of information on electric cars and bikes, along with the Grand Eco-raffle, refreshments and face painting to keep the children occupied too.

  • Talk to local EV owners, explore their cars and find out first-hand about their experiences. Cars on the day will include a Porsche Taycan, Jaguar iPace, Tesla Model 3, BMW i3, VW ID3, Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf
  • Discuss with specialists all things charging: charging at home and on route, installing a home charger and understanding tariffs
  • Buying v Leasing, all the costs and tax implications
  • Take a Tesla for a test drive or book a ride in a Tesla
  • Electric bikes and bike conversions talk to experts
  • Learn about Oxfordshire's EV Park & Charge initiative
  • See the information boards to answer your many questions
