First held in 2012 Haddenham now boasts one of the biggest Cider Competitions in Buckinghamshire, and this year's event will be held on 9th March in the Rising Sun with the competition starting promptly at 7:00pm.
Last year saw 18 entries, with the ever popular Gary 'Guzzi' Beattie strolling off with the winning trophy with his tipple 'Water Infection'. This year's competition is wide open so why not come along and enjoy the fun?
If you are planning to attend, please get there early because once the competition has started you cannot join in, and it will be very busy.
If you are planning to enter a cider, please note the following rules:
- The majority of apples used must have been grown in Haddenham.
- No bought apples can be used.
- Your entry must be cider less than 12 months old.
- A minimum of 1ltr must be handed to the organisers before 6:00 on the day of the competition.
- By entering, you agree to be in the pub for the competition, and available to accept the Wassail Cup, should you do so.
- You haven't done anything that can be considered cheating. The final decision will rest with the organisers
There is a £2 entry fee which will be donated to Haddenham Baptist Church towards their Home Mission Fund.
