Haddenham Horticultural Society’s Annual Show will take place in Haddenham Village Hall on Saturday 5th September; public viewing from 2.00 – 4.00 p.m., followed by the presentation of trophies and the raffle draw. Admission: 50p senior citizens and children; £1.00p others. Please note cash only for entry or for purchases from the various stalls.
Non-members are very welcome to compete and we always love to see some new exhibitors taking part. There are classes to suit everyone across a wide range for vegetables, fruit, flowers, cacti and succulents, floral art, domestic (preserves, baking and bread), beer and wine, art, crafts and photography, and there is also a range of special classes for children of different age groups up to 18 years. Fortunately we have enough of interest to offer, even if the horticultural entries may be affected by the weather. Entries close at 8 p.m. on Wednesday 2nd September (entry fees per class: 10p members, 20p non-members, all children’s classes free) and staging of exhibits is from 7.00 – 8.30 p.m. on Friday 4th and 8.00 – 9.50 a.m. on Saturday 5thSeptember. There is also a raffle, tombola, plant sale and refreshments. We would much appreciate donations of items to be used for these, particularly tombola prizes, or offers to help set things up on the Friday afternoon or to run the Show on Saturday.
