After 30 years as Chairman of the Haddenham Fish Scheme, Jeanne Watt was keen to emphasise that “This is not Goodbye” when she stepped down from that role at the annual AGM last week and welcomed Marion Curryer who will be taking over from her. Jeanne will still be involved in driving and other Fish Scheme activities.
At Jeanne’s presentation, presents included a Thank You card with numerous messages from current and past volunteers demonstrating the special qualities that she has brought to the scheme since first becoming a volunteer in 1983. Qualities that have helped make the scheme the successful and much appreciated village service that it is. An “extraordinary achievement” was how one volunteer put it
New volunteers are always welcome, so do let us know if you have an hour or two to spare every now and then, no regular commitment is required, you can do as much or as little as you like, timing can be flexible to suit you and young children are no impediment (clients always enjoy their company).
