The start of May was celebrated in traditional fashion on Saturday 2nd May with a procession from the village hall and Maypole Dancing on Church End Green.
Michael Whitney did the honours as always, driving his classic tractor, suitably decorated in flowers and fresh foliage, closely followed by a procession of youngsters in their colourful Spring attire. The group was led to the village green by Towerey Horseshoes Morris.
Michael Witney also acted as Master of Ceremonies on the village green, while local celebrity and historian, Bruce Alexander, commissioned the May Queen and King.
It was lovely to see some new musicians among the band, kindly recruited by Dave Rogers.
Thanks are also due to Rebecca Boulton and Emily for liaising with local schools and organising the event and to Roger Ward and Trevor Walker who kindly provided the PA ystem, borrowed from St Mary's Church
A collection of photos is displayed in the Galleries secion of this website.
A much fuller portfolio of images is available on the Haddenham Flickr page, largely for parents and grandparents to enjoy and to source photographs for their own family records.

We now have a large archive of such village events that we hope will contribute to an historical record of life in our lovely village going
forward.
As always, if any parents or guardians do not wish photographs of their youngsters to appear on the internet please email the editor and attach an image of the child in question, so that he or she can be easily identified and excluded from published photos.
