We are saddened to report the passing of Pam Bright.
Older members of the Haddenham community will remember Pam as the Practice Manager in the 1980s and 1990s, when the Haddenham Medical Centre was housed at Banks Park, in the building now occupied by the Fitlife gym.
In those days, the practice was led by Dr Jonathan Sadler, and the team of doctors included Robin Wilson, Hugh Stradling and Alison Vickers.
Along with the late John Landon, I was one of the prime movers in establishing the Haddenham Patient Participation Group and Pam Bright was an extremely enthusiastic and postive encourager of that initiative, recognising right from the start the benefits to the practice and patients alike of having a close collaboration between patients and local health care professionals.
Pam was an outgoing and pragmatic character who was always ready and willing to engage with patients' concerns. She also helped in steering the Practice through a difficult phase in moving to 'Fundholding' at a time when GP practices were required by the Government to assume greater financial autonomy.
Pam will be sadly missed by many Haddenham residents, as well as by her former medical colleagues.
