Ponderosa Line Dancing – Raising Funds for Charity
Haddenham Ponderosa Line Dance Group had a busy 2025, fundraising throughout the year for Buckinghamshire-based charity Scannappeal.
On Saturday 17th January, Sue Young, Paula Tompkins and the dancers presented Karen Shardlow, CEO of Scannappeal, with a cheque for an impressive £4,681.24.
The total was raised thanks to the generosity of the group who supported raffles held throughout the year, as well as a popular bingo event.
Sue Young paid tribute to the group, saying: “Well done all my lovely dancers for always giving so generously and for bringing loads of raffle prizes every month!”
The funds will support Scannappeal’ s Mobile Breast Screening Appeal, which will fund a new mobile mammography unit serving South Buckinghamshire.
Karen shared that in 2024 alone, 179 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in Bucks after attending a routine screening appointment, without having any symptoms, pain, or lumps.
Karen thanked Sue, Paula and all the dancers for their kindness, generosity, and commitment to supporting the fundraising throughout the year, and encouraged everyone to attend their screening appointment when invited.
