Haddenham Tennis Club Selected for LTA National Ball Recycling Green Initiative.

The LTA iplans to launch a nationwide tennis ball recycling programme and Haddenam Tennis Club (HTC) along with other clubs round the UK have been chosen to run the pilot scheme.

Currently millions of tennis balls go to land fill and although there are some schemes that re use old balls, eventually they all go to land fill, just get discarded or end up littering the countryside.

The LTA has partnered with Dyuce who provide tennis clubs with collection bins and then arrange to collect old balls for processing and re use the rubber for a number of products such as safety surfaces & footwear.

HTC has already filled two collection boxes and we are aware that many members have old tennis balls that may end up in a rubbish bin, so please do come down and put them in our collection container ready for our next collection.
