Presentation of funds raised from 2026 Haddenham Scarecrow Festival

The Haddenham Scout and Guide Association are delighted to announce that this year’s Scarecrow Festival raised £1600. Most of the funds came from sales of Scarecrow Maps, which were sponsored byHarpers Estate Agents and sold at various outlets throughout Haddenham. Generous and much appreciated donations were also made online by individuals, families and various community groups.

Representatives from Buckinghamshire charity, Forever Colours Children’s Hospice were presented with the total raised. The presentation was made by Festival organiser, Francesca Flaxton and other members of the Scout and Guide Association Committee including Richard Kendall, Diane Austin, Alison Parsons. Alison’s daughters Jennifer and Sophie who are members of 3rdHaddenham Brownies, also came along with some of the leftover bits from their family Scarecrow entry!

Hayley Manley, Founding Director of the Forever Colours charity said,  .”WOW, what you have all achieved is absolutely incredible! Over 90 scarecrow entries, three weeks of community involvement, selling maps, doing a cake sale and the JustGiving fundraising, you have brought an entire community together while raising an amazing amount for our Children’s Hospice.The JustGiving funds of £764.75 which we have already received is already incredible and to be donated a further £835.25 today is just phenomenal. For a small charity like ours, this kind of money is massive. It makes a genuine difference to what we are able to provide for the babies, children, young people and families we support across Buckinghamshire. Please pass on our enormous thanks to absolutely everyone involved. Every scarecrow made, every map bought, every cake baked, every donation made and every hour volunteered has contributed to something incredibly special”.

Haddenham Scarecrow Festival began in 2016 and has grown into a popular and well-establishedcommunity tradition, attracting nearly 100 entriesthis year. In the last 11 years, the event has raisedover £19,000 for many local charities and village organisations.
