Although we've been running since 2004, many people still aren't quite sure what Summerfest is all about. So, whether you've always wondered or have just moved to the village, here's a little introduction...
At its heart, Summerfest is a huge community celebration – originally known as "The Beer Festival" – but it's grown into something much more.
Yes, we still host one of the best one-day beer festivals in the country, but now with a massive range of drinks from independent brewers and distillers. But if real ale isn't your thing, there's plenty to enjoy: Pimms, gin, rum, wine, cider, craft beer, lager, and a wide selection of non-alcoholic options.
What started with a few local musicians on a school playground stage has grown into two professionally run music stages, showcasing incredible local talent all day long.
From the original ploughman's platters and The Masons' charity BBQ (still going strong!) to a mouthwatering selection of street food from StrEatMeet – think burgers, pizza, Greek kebabs and more – there's something for everyone.
With a younger crowd now bringing their families along, we've expanded our children's offering, from a lone bouncy castle and some colouring pages, into a proper Family Zone. This year, kids' tickets are all-inclusive – so no need to bring extra money for face painting or bouncy castles! There's creative fun with Renboga, active play with JR Sports, a quiet feeding space from Becoming Mama, and magical storytelling from the library and SO much more.
There's also a theatre stage and lots of surprise entertainment popping up around the site. Whether you're chilling on a picnic blanket, setting up a gazebo with friends, or just hanging out by the bar, it's a day to enjoy in your own way.
Summerfest is entirely run by volunteers, supported by local sponsors and the Parish Council. It's a true community effort – and all surplus profits go to the Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust, which has donated £450k to local charities and organisations so far.
