Many long-term residents of Haddenham will remember Brian Burch as the village milkman for 40 years.
As Brian approaches his 90th birthday, an oral history based on his recollections has been captured and published by Cynthia Floud and the Village Society will be hosting a meeting to celebrate this.
Cynthia, Mike Whitney, Bruce Alexander and Teresa Roberts will each read extracts – with many illustrations – from the publication. They are a unique record of the village since the 1940s.
Copies of the book, 360 A4 pages, will be on sale for £20 (cash only, no cards, please), including £5 for Haddenham Museum.
Non-members are welcome to attend this event with a view to joining the Society.
The meeting will be held in the Library, on Wednesday 9th September, starting at 8.00pm.
