We have had a very busy and successful couple of days at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium Aylesbury Vaccination Centre. Most of our clinical team from Haddenham Medical Centre have been there at some point over this time both giving vaccines and in the really tricky work of vaccine preparation.
The vaccines do not come prepared like flu jabs. There is an important, but painstaking, first stage of making up the vaccine by very gently mixing ingredients.
Our Practice Manager has again played a prominent role in ensuring that everything runs smoothly, and experienced members of our reception team have been there to welcome patients. It has also been really encouraging, again, to see some of our patients there volunteering with marshalling — thank you.
We managed to get through our allocated supply of vaccine in just a couple of days, so now need to wait for our next delivery which is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday.
We're looking forward to seeing some of you over the next couple of days. Sadly, we cannot always be the ones to vaccinate you as we need to work to a careful system to avoid wasting your time and to keep social-distancing, but please give us a wave if you see us!
We know it can be worrying to have to go somewhere new for the vaccination.
We have helped produce a video which will show you what to expect — see here
