The third Haddenham wheelbarrow race will take place on Saturday 11th June starting at the Sports and Social Club at 4pm.

Charitable Aims
This year we will be raising funds for a local charity called ThatBidKid which is raising funds for a bench in memory of Megan Biddle, a daughter of a school friend of many of us who sadly passed away last year. Megan's friends have designed a special bench and have been given permission to have it placed in a park in Thame. For more details, see here and here.

The previous two years have raised lots of money for charities and we hope to see people lining the route again, cheering on the various fancy dress teams of two as they make their way from one watering hole to the next. Will Del Boy and Uncle Albert find Rodney en route, or will the cop still be swapping places with the robber? Come along and find out!

Let's hope that the sun shines not only on us but all who are visiting the village fete on the same day.

We must say a massive thank you to the landlords and ladies of the village pubs for their continued support as, without them, this great spectacle couldn't take place. So if you can't be on the route please visit one of the pubs and not only support us but the hostelries as well – they all deserve it.

When the entrants have all completed the course back at the Sports and Social Club there will be a raffle and a barbecue, and the bar will be open showing England v Russia in their first Euro 2016 match.

The Route
The route this year is different to last year and will be as follows :
Start : at the Sports and Social Club
Then proceed to the Rising Sun via Woodways / Banks Road / Fort End.
From the Rising Sun along Townside to the car park entrance of the Kings Head.
Racers then leave the Kings Head via the alleyway onto The Croft , around Skittles Green, down past Ricky's (Egg House) Butchers Shop, to the Rose and Thistle.
They leave the Rose and Thistle and proceed to the Green Dragon.
From the Green Dragon racers head north along Churchway to the Haddenham Carpets' shop, turning right into Willis Road, left into Old Mill Close and through the gap in the hedge back into and across the playing field to the finish line at the Sports and Social Club.

The cup will be awarded to the quickest two person team to finish the course and also a trophy for the best fancy dress and barrow.
