Haddenham and District Rotary hosted an evening with local author, Clare Mackintosh on Wednesday 26th November.
Clare is a well know and internationally recognised crime author who spent 12 years in the police force before leaving to become a full-time writer.
This year’s Rotary president, Martin Andrew, presented Clare to an enthusiatic audience of approximately 160 attendees, who were gathered in the Events Barn at Bradmoor Farm.
Clare was able to engage and entertain her audience effortlessly.as she described her life story., and the evening closed with a book signing, providing attendees with a welcome opportunity to meet the author in person.
The Book House in Thame came with a selection of Clare’s books for sale and sold at least 50 copies for which the organisers were very grateful. We
Rotary wish to give huge thanks to Bradmoor Farm for being so supportive of this charity event & especially to Jane who freely gave so much of her time to us.
As a raffle prize, Clare kindly donated a pre-publication copy of her latest (so far un-titled) novel to be published next Spring.
There was also a lovely selection of donated raffle prizes including: a large hamper full of goodies from Haddenham Park Care Home.
Donations were also gratefully received from Blooming Fruity (a basket of fruits & other goodies); vouchers kindly donated by Tiggywinkles, Haddenham Garden Centre, “Brothers” Hairdressing Salon in Thame, “Le Secret Garden” in Great Haseley, Bottles of wine, Baskets of toiletries, Jigsaws and other items.
The final proceeds (yet to be calculated)) will go to “Thames Valley Air Ambulance and other Haddenham Rotary Club Charities for this year.
