London's West End Comes to Haddenham

The Feast Festival's opening day (14th September) brings London's West End into the heart of Haddenham.

The day kicks off with something of a coup for the Feast Festival and for Haddenham – a star of the West End hit musical 'Wicked', Alice Fearn, will lead a FREE singing and theatrical workshop for any Haddenham child aged 6-16. Sadly, the workshop has to be limited to 30 spaces, so please register your child early to avoid disappointment.

Children attending the workshop will work with Alice on a song they will perform with her at the "Beyond The Greatest Shows", a concert later Saturday afternoon in St Mary's Church. Any child going to the concert will need to be accompanied by a ticketed adult.

The "Beyond The Greatest Shows" concert is a unique and vibrant collaboration between Alice Fearn and Haddenham-based Masquerade, one of the country's leading string quartets. A celebration of some of the greatest songs from the biggest musicals of stage and the silver screen. A must-see show for fans of theatrical and movie musicals, contemporary classical music, or those who simply love the amazing acoustics in St Mary's Church. It promises to be an event to entertain all ages. You can now book your tickets online.

The West End theme continues into Saturday evening, with the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show', which is followed by an after-show party. For those who do not know, the Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult movie extraordinaire, in which the whole audience becomes involved. You don't just watch this movie, you become it. Dancing, singing, booing, laughing and using an array of props. No prior experience required. We've got short videos on our Facebook page to explain the joyous mayhem that is the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Haddenham letting its hair down. What a great fun way to kick off the Feast Festival – mediaeval-esque raucousness with contemporary film culture. Bar and food after the show, a great way to end our Opening Day. You can book tickets through Haddenham Screen, who are organising the event for everyone in the village.

Follow the Feast Festival's Facebook page to keep updated. There will be new news every day, so keep reading Haddenham.Net and listening to Red Kite Radio, so you don't miss a thing. You can also follow the Feast Festival on Twitter and Instagram.
