CHUF is open five mornings a week from 9.15am to 12 noon, at both Chearsley and Haddenham, and four afternoons (Monday through to Thursday) from 1.00pm to 3.00pm at Haddenham. We also offer children the opportunity to bring a packed lunch and join the "Lunch Bunch" between 12 noon and 1.00pm, at both locations

A friendly group of parents, carers and childminders of babies and toddlers (0-5). We meet on a Tuesday morning during term times, 9:30 – 11:30. As well as a variety of toys to play with we also have a craft activity, a snack for the children, tea and coffee for parents and a singing time. A friendly group run by local parents on Thursday mornings during term time for 0-5 year olds. Sessions start with free play, including slide, play kitchen, train sets and craft activity. This is followed by a snack break (refreshments provided!), then trike and ride on time. We finish with parachute games and singing. £2 for one child or £2.50 if you bring more than one. 0930-1130 at St Mary's Centre, Church End.
Little Forest Friends is our pre-school at Haddenham St Mary's CE School, set in our Eco Lodge and Forest School area in our beautiful rural setting.
The children have constant access to the forest school and a large field as well as a warm and well equipped 'Eco Lodge.' At Little Forest Friends we follow the core Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and incorporate learning in a safe and secure outdoor environment, where free play, fresh air, exposure to the natural world and physical activity are an integral part of learning. St Mary's Church run a toddler group (0-4 years) called Little People's CafePlus+. It's held on the second Wednesday of every month (even in school holidays), from 9.15-12.00 and is free. Thomley Activity Centre is a recreational facility for disabled children, their families, friends, schools and groups. The Centre is situated in Worminghall, about 10 miles from Haddenham. Its objectives are: * to increase self esteem, health, confidence, social and physical skills of disabled children, their siblings and friends through accessible play, recreation and informal education; * to provide parents and carers with opportunities to meet others who have disabled children, to lessen their isolation & to increase their ability to support their children through play, recreation and access to information; * to raise awareness amongst the community, to encourage understanding and acceptance of disability issues, and to increase ability to include disabled children within their own community activities. "Carrie", the Haddenham Community Vehicle, provides free local transport for those with mobility issues who would have difficulty using public transport or conventional private cars. Trained drivers offer a bookable door-to-door service for residents of Haddenham and all surrounding villages. Within a range of 20 miles, typical journeys include to shops, hairdressers, medical and dental appointments or simply for social visits to friends and relatives. The specially adapted vehicle offers easy assisted access for passengers in wheelchairs and others. Since 2015 our friendly transport service has been helping to relieve social isolation within the community by making local travel more accessible for all. u3a Learn, Laugh, Live
With over 400 members, the local u3a branch welcomes anyone who no longer works full time. The organisation, formerly known as the University of the Third Age, can provide information, education, entertainment and exercise though a wide range of activities. There are monthly general meetings in the Village Hall, featuring speakers covering a wide range of topics, together with around 30 special interest groups. These range from mahjong to modern languages, film and theatre to walking and cycling. In non-covid times there are UK visits, theatre trips and holidays in the UK and abroad.
