Homemade in Haddenham is back for its fourth glorious year celebrating our local foods, crafts and produce. It's taking place this Saturday 11th October, in and around Haddenham Village Hall from 10am to 2pm.
This year, as well as the great display and sale of handmade items and produce, there will be more to discover and learn.
For the first time the event will include Dr Bike from Sustrans, who will be doing cycle maintenance and giving away winter bike freebies – bring your bike and have it looked over in time for winter!
Another first is "Busk Stop": this will be outside from 11.00am to 1.00pm, weather permitting. Take along your musical instrument and/or dust off your tonsils: form an orderly queue and when you get to the front, give it your all.
Lots of Demonstrations
There will be demonstrations throughout the day – learn how to make cider, how to crochet a string bag (and you will be able to buy the kit to do this afterwards), how to make bread... and you will be able to hear about the life of a sustainable smallholder.
Pick up handy tips for your allotment or your garden and learn more about composting; and take the chance of picking up very unusual cucumbers and astonishingly beautiful quinces
Haddenham entertainers – the Hoofers and the Ukelele Band – will be hoofing and playing
And of course, apple pressing will again be available, so take along your surplus apples and some containers to take away your juice (more details here).
Morning coffee and homemade cakes: delicious homemade soups using locally grown ingredients, with homemade bread. What a feast!
And, to top it all off, there will be a bar selling local beer and cider
