Recovering the RaT?

To everyone in Haddenham this is our last chance to try and save the Rose & Thistle pub in Haddenham even though it has planning permission to turn the pub into a residential property it can still be saved and remain a pub

A few local residents have now had 3 meetings to discuss the possibility of getting this proposal to open the pub up and running

We've met with the current owners 3 times who have been very supportive with this proposal to open up as a pub again despite gaining residential planning permission

Our thoughts as a group who We've called the Rat Pack have put several ideas together as a group to see if this is possible

One of the ideas is to have a restaurant within the pub and make this affordable family food whilst retaining the pub atmosphere along side

The idea is to try and purchase the pub and make a business for the community which will be purchased hopefully by local people with a share option to buy into the business and make a thriving community business and asset for everyone's future in Haddenham and beyond

Haddenham is growing bigger by the day and we require more amenities to serve the locals and we see this as a perfect opportunity

This is going to take an awful lot of work and money to achieve this goal

We're not trying to take business away from any other local businesses but feel there is room for this to happen in Haddenham

We will have a stall at the fete this coming Saturday next to the beer tent obviously

We will have some information available on the day and the option to fill in a survey or this can be downloaded and submitted online

There will be several members of the Rat Pack available on the stall to answer any questions

We require several members of the Public to get involved with our vision and we will be happy to answer any questions that you might have on the day

We are also looking for the public to get involved with helping to get this venture of the ground

We are looking for people who can help with all aspects of setting up and running the business but please be under no illusions that this is going to be a lot of hard work but hopefully we can achieve this

We will have a form for members of the public to hopefully fill in if they are interested in getting involved and investing in this proposal

We will be holding a raffle on the day to raise money for this journey and the prizes will be beer related products obviously!!

We have contacted plunkett UK and require £270 to start the process so hopefully we can raise this on the day with everyone's help

Several of the Rat Pack members were involved with the Blooming Fruity community business and still are and we are hoping to use the same business model that was used with setting up Blooming Fruity
