John Brown, RIP

We are saddened to announce that John Brown CBE sadly passed away on 21st August. He was 89.

He was a great supporter of village activities being a past President of the Rotary Club as well as being involved with the Village Society and St Mary's Church amongst other things.

He was also a Liverymen being past Master of the Glovers and Plaisterers.

He was a recognised expert in VAT, being responsible for determining that a Jaffa Cake was a cake not a biscuit and therefore exempt from VAT!

His funeral is on 11 September at Watermead Crematorium. Here are the details:
