We're all now very familiar with traffic lights popping up to control single carriageway traffic movements on the A418 between the Bugle Horn and the Fairford Leys roundabout. But total road closures are now looming, starting in mid-July...
Starting next weekend (12th July), HS2 contractors will be closing the A418 Oxford Road several times in order to bring a new road alignment into use.
This work begins with two weekend closures in July.
There will then be a 2-week closure and a further 1-week closure later this year. There are three additional weekends identified as contingency in case the works are delayed "due to circumstances beyond contractors' control".

- Friday 9 August 8:30pm – Monday 12 August 5:30am (Contingency weekend)
- Friday 16 August 8:30pm – Monday 2 September 5:30am (2 week closure)
- Friday 18 October 8:30pm – Monday 21 October 5:30am (Contingency weekend)
- Friday 25 October 8:30pm – Monday 4 November 5:30am (1 week closure)
- Friday 15 November 8:30pm – Monday 18 November 5:30am (Contingency weekend)
