The annual Haddenham Scarecrow Festival raises funds for a different charity each year. The Haddenham Association of Scouts and Guides always aims to support a local charity or a cause with a local connection and this year they chose Buckinghamshire Mind, based in Aylesbury.

We are very pleased to announce that the 2022 Scarecrow Festival raised a total of £1400.33 from a combination of online donations and the sale of Scarecrow Trail Maps throughout the village.

On behalf of the Scout and Guide Association, Francesca Flaxton presented this to Kari Channel, Fundraising Officer at Bucks Mind. Kari said "Thank you to all for choosing Bucks Mind, this support has never been more needed or more appreciated!".

This charity is run by local people for local people and is responsible for its own funding and the services it provides. Local donations and community fundraising underpins all their vital mental health services, ensuring they are able to support our community's mental health needs now and in the future

The Scarecrow Festival is now a well established and much enjoyed event in our village calendar and this year's result means an incredible total of £13,560 has been raised over the last 7 years!

We are all very much looking forward to organising the Festival again in June 2023. Dates and details will be published next spring — so watch this space!
