Haddenham Festive Trail
Big Switch-On at 4pm Saturday 11th December

Haddenham Festive Trail opens on Saturday (11th) with a village-wide "Switch-On" at 4pm, which will be broadcast live by Red Kite Radio on 107.2 fm from outside St Mary's Church.

Festival entrants will be asked to join in the Countdown and switch on their lights together at 4pm for maximum impact.

It is hoped that other households in the village will also join in by switching on their lights at the same time.

The Festive Trail was first organised in 2020 during lockdown. This year's event is being run by a small team of volunteers from Churches Together in Haddenham, supported by Haddenham's Community Christmas Tree and Scarecrow Festivals.

One of the Trail's organisers, Francesca Flaxton, said "There are 55 sparkling displays to enjoy, but as some entries are from groups of neighbours, we estimate that around 70 homes are taking part. And of course, hundreds of other households will also be lit up for Christmas, so Haddenham promises to be full of light and joy!".

Community Christmas Tree Festival representative Sharon Smith said: "We are delighted that Red Kite Radio will be broadcasting the Festive Trail Switch On outside St Mary's Church, which will be full of Christmas Tree displays for people to enjoy. Refreshments will be available outside, as well as children's activities, a Christingle workshop and carol singing (details on posters outside Church).

Festive Trail maps and a list of entrants are now available online here on Haddenham.net – see PDFs

Limited quality A3 paper Trail maps will be available at the Switch-On, and afterwards from Blooming Fruity, Haddenham Garden Centre and 7 Dovecote.
