The Witchert Chorale were delighted to welcome their friends from Golgatha Kantorei over the May Bank Holiday weekend. The Berlin choir last visited Haddenham in 2019 and the two choirs were very excited to be reunited after the interruption of the pandemic.

On Sunday evening, the choirs gave a short concert in St Mary's Haddenham which included a selection of items sung by the choirs individually and jointly, and an accomplished performance on the organ by the German choir's Canadian director Ben Cruchley. The concert raised over £500 for the St Mary's Malachi Project, which is seeking to develop teaching and learning in primary schools in Malawi.

On Monday (May) Morning, the two choirs sang madrigals from the tops of the church towers in Long Crendon and Cuddington to enthusuatic audiences at both churches and plan to continue their successful programme of exchange visits in Berlin or Leipzig and Haddenham.

The Witchert Chorale can be heard again on Sunday 25 June at 7pm in Exeter College Chapel in Oxford. Come and enjoy an evening of beautiful music in a the wonderful setting. Tickets can be bought online rom www.witchert.org.uk or phone Ann on 07876 683990.

The Witchert Chorale is always interested in welcoming new singers and the choir currently has vacancies in all voice parts. Singers must be able to read music and show an enthusiasm for singing together.
