On Friday 12th August Susanna Aston (nee Jeffery) a former pupil of St Mary's School and Haddenham Middle School, was presented with The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal.

"The medal is being awarded to serving frontline members of the fire, Police, emergency services, prison services and Armed Forces who have completed five full calendar years of service before 6th February 2022."

The colours of the ribbon are: Red from the Diamond Jubilee ribbon, with silver stripes at the edges representing the Silver Jubilee, and a broad blue stripe in the centre from the Golden Jubilee.

Sergeant Instructor Susanna, who is currently on annual camp in Weymouth with Oxfordshire Army Cadets, has served for eight years as a dedicated adult volunteer with army cadets in Banbury. In the past week she has been helping cadets to enjoy paddle boarding, kayacking, sailing, raft building and climbing.
