If you enjoy using Haddenham Community Library and would like to help it to continue and grow, think you could work with a group of local people to make this happen; then why not offer your time energy and skills to the library as a Trustee?
As a registered charity and company limited by guarantee the library has a Board of Trustee/ Directors who are responsible for the library's management, development and effectiveness. Besides thinking about its services and facilities, its Trustee/Directors must ensure the library looks after its assets, meets its financial obligations and functions within the legal framework of a charity.
We are looking for new, energetic and committed individuals to join the Board and would welcome interest from people from all kinds of backgrounds. You would be joining a group of local people passionate about the relevance and continuation of the library, who freely give their time to ensure it remains at the centre of the community. Being a Library Trustee/Director involves a significant level of commitment both in time and energy but is a rewarding and enjoyable activity and we have great Christmas parties!
If you think you would be interested in becoming a Trustee/Director, a job description outlining the responsibilities, duties and person specifications can be viewed on our website.
If you are considering applying then please contact the Chair of the Board, Susan Toner, to discuss the matter, for more information and details of the application process. You can contact her via email at lib-had@buckscc.gov.uk or leave your preferred contact details at the library with the Manager.
The Trustee/Directors look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your interest in helping this unique community resource to survive and prosper.
