Remembrance Service 2026
Haddenham Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service – 8th November 2026
The annual Churches Together in Haddenham (CTIH) Remembrance Service will take place in St Mary’s Church at 10.15 on Sunday 8th November, which will be followed by prayers, wreath laying and a 2-minute silence outside at the Church End War Memorial.
In keeping with tradition, members of the Haddenham Scouting and Guiding units will parade from Banks Park to St Mary’s Church and will be attending the service.
In recent years, as our village has grown, the number of people attending this important service has significantly increased. Haddenham’s Churches and the Scout and Guide Association are delighted that so many people wish to attend but, for the comfort and safety of all, the following measures will be in place:
Extra chairs will be set up inside St Mary’s Church and the aim will be to welcome and accommodate as many people as is safely and practically possible. Priority will be given to all the uniformed children and adults taking part in the service and to those with limited mobility.
There will be a designated covered “buggy parking” area outside the church on Church End green by consent of Haddenham Parish Council. Due to space limitations, buggies will need to be left outside the church, please. There will be a volunteer on hand to assist and direct people and to stay with the buggies, but they will be left at the owner’s risk.
It is hoped to be able to relay the service via an audio system into the buggy parking area so that anyone staying there during the service can be included.
Named First Aiders will be present and, if required, they will be responsible for calling the emergency services. Fire exits will need to be kept clear.
Everyone is welcome to attend the wreath laying and 2-minute silence around the War Memorial, even if they have not been in the service. This will start at approx 10.45-10.50am. There is plenty of space here and passing traffic will be requested to wait respectfully and switch off their engines during the silence.
On behalf of all Haddenham’s churches and the Scout and Guide Association, we thank our community in advance for your understanding and cooperation with this significant service.
