The Haddenham Scout and Guide Association is delighted to present the 7th annual Haddenham Scarecrow Festival from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 19th June inclusive.
The Festival is starting a little earlier than usual to take advantage of the two bank holidays being held to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It is hoped that some entrants will create scarecrows with a Royal theme, but this is entirely optional as pretty much anything goes!
The 2022 Festival will be raising funds for mental health charity, Buckinghamshire Mind, which is run by local people for local people. This charity is responsible for its own funding and the services it provides. Their vision is that everyone with a mental health problem gets both support and respect.
Buckinghamshire Mind promotes wellbeing and recovery; prevents mental ill health by offering talking therapies and providing support in times of crisis. The Association will donate 100% of profits from the 2022 Scarecrow Festival to this very worthwhile cause. Donations can be made in various ways, including online here.
To take part, simply complete and return your entry form by the closing date, which is strictly midnight on 25th May to guarantee inclusion on the official Scarecrow Trail Map. Full information and forms are available to download from here — see the PDF on this page.
Paper entry forms will be available from the Scout and Guide Association's stall at this year's Village Maypole dancing, which is making a welcome return to Church End green on Saturday 7th May.
There will also be a display of previous Scarecrow Festival entries, as well as some cakes and squash in aid of Buckinghamshire Mind.
The Association is proud to co-ordinate this popular annual event and is always keen to hear from adults who would like to find out more about volunteering with any of Haddenham's Scouting or Guiding units.
Visitors come from far and wide to see our village Scarecrow Festival, so start planning your entry now and let's put on a fantastic display in 2022! Maps will be available online from 2nd June and in various village outlets as well as at Haddenham Village Fete.
