Young members of scouting and guiding units in the village have purchased a bench and it has recently been installed at the Airfield Playing Field.
The bench is located near to the footway that runs along the far side of the playing field. A plaque on the bench acknowledges that young people in scouting and guiding paid for it.
Last December members of the scouting and guiding units — cubs, brownies, scouts, beavers and guides performed a Gang Show in the Village Hall. The money that they raised at that event was used to pay for the bench.
The Parish Council kindly arranged for Kevin of Aspire to assemble the bench and install it.
Richard Lay, the Cub Leader who organised the Gang Show, said: "We hope that lots of people will enjoy sitting on the bench — and watching a match or just resting or having a think — and will remember that it was youngsters in scouting and guiding in Haddenham who raised the funds to pay for it."
