The library will be closed from Tuesday 30th May until Tuesday 20th June, when it will re-open for business at 10.00am.
The closure is to allow for the safe installation of new windows in the main section of the building , a new front and back door and an upgrade to the lighting. Major work to repair the roof will also be taking place but this does not need the library to be shut. Scaffolding will be going up on Tuesday 30th May and is expected to remain in place for 5 weeks. Buckinghamshire Council contractors are undertaking the work and disruption to library users will be kept to the minimum.
Please be assured that all items borrowed from the library up to and including Saturday May 27th will automatically have their lending period extended to 20th June. No items will be due back when we are closed.
Borrowers may choose to return their books to any library in the County whilst Haddenham Community Library is closed. If you want to reserve a book you can select to collect it at another library e.g., Aylesbury, Long Crendon or Princess Risborough. Earlier reservations that become available whilst we are closed will be held by Library Services until we reopen and delivered to Haddenham on Friday 2nd June.
We are sorry we must close but it is necessary as the work in the library is hazardous and could not be undertaken safely if we were to remain open.
We look forward to welcoming you back into our much brighter library.
Have you noticed we have a foxy weathervane on our roof? When the roof is repaired, it should be working once again!
