Lockdown hasn't been wasted in our Village Hall ...
Driven by need and the strong desire to buy in to the Zero Carbon Haddenham initiative by being more eco friendly we've taken the opportunity to improve the Lobby, Kitchen and toilets heating & hot water systems.
The antiquated and failing boilers have been replaced with brand new, energy efficient Vaillents and the system has been completely flushed to remove 20+ year's worth of sludge. The plumbing required to fit the new boilers is a work of art (see photo)!
The rusty old radiators have been replaced with brand new ones, fitted with thermostatically controlled valves and, with the addition of various safety devices and weather sensing compensators, we can now provide a safe and warm environment whatever the weather — while, at the same time, reducing our energy usage and carbon footprint.
In addition, we have vastly improved the Walter Rose Room. Again, heating efficiency has always been a problem in this room and we now have superb high level thermostatically controlled fan assisted heaters.
The adjoining corridor now has a radiator which helps stop heat leakage from the room itself and both room and corridor have been completely redecorated, including modern eco friendly LED lighting and some stunning artwork by our very own Banksy!
Programmable thermostats have been used throughout the building to enable efficient timing schedules and minimise wasting energy by heating empty rooms.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Village Hall so please, stay safe, and we'll see you soon!
