Cala Homes have informed us that they have installed an application of barley straw to the large pond at their site off Pegasus Way — see picture.
Apparently they have experienced unprecedented algae growth during the summer months and although not an ideal time of year to apply the barley straw Cala wanted to get something in place which would combat growth through the winter prior to planting season next year.
The strategy is to reduce the application weight over the next 12 months whilst the planting takes which will hopefully leave Cala Homes and Haddenham Parish Council (once handed over) with an impressive amenity area.
